Krishna and the serpent in lapis and gold
A turquoise face in profile, the tilak white against it, looks quietly out of the canvas. Inside the contour Shri Krishna Ji plays his flute, encircled by a serpent patterned in tiny dots, while rows of devotees with folded hands gather along the base. Green and gold bands run at the left and an orange leaf panel closes the right. The colour is cool and the line is warm: the face is still, and everything inside it is in motion.
