Embrace beneath the banyan

Two figures, one in deep ultramarine and one in pale cornflower, hold each other in the foreground, their forms cut from flat colour with scratches of red showing through. Behind them hangs the dense, fine-lined mass of a banyan's aerial roots, and through the roots show white high-rise towers drawn in printed texture and the blue-roofed houses of a low settlement. A yellow-and-black hazard stripe cuts the lower left. The picture sets tenderness against a crowded city, and it comes from the same hand as the other blue embrace the house holds. The house's earlier register attributes this subject to Sanjeev Sonpimpare; the signature is being confirmed.
