Unattributed, Horizon in three panels, orange and black: three canvases hung side by side form one wide landscape: a pale sky, a thin gold line, a textured black band and a field of deep orange over white.

Abstract

Horizon in three panels, orange and black

Contemporary Indian

Three canvases hang edge to edge and read as a single landscape: a pale, misty sky above a thin line of gold, a heavy black band cracked and textured like burnt earth, a strip of deep brown, then a broad field of saturated orange scored with red, resting on a narrow white margin. Tiny white marks along the horizon read as distant sails. Each panel is framed in a slim brass-coloured edge. The photograph was taken on the wall where the work hangs; the medium, size and maker have not yet been established.
