Lakshmi on the lotus, saffron profile

A saffron face in profile, a gold ring at the nostril, sets the key of the canvas. To the right a crimson lotus panel burns against black. Inside the contour Maa Lakshmi Ji sits on her lotus, held by a patterned sari border in black line and gold, with a mandala roundel turning at the left edge. It is the warmest of the six, saffron, crimson and gold, and the one most likely to be placed where the light is lowest, in a room that is lived in.
