The golden face with lotus and leaves, 2026

Painting on a round canvas

A round canvas holds a single face with closed eyes, painted in burnished gold and drawn over in fine black line. A lotus opens at the brow, another forms the nose, and leaves, scrolls and buds spread across the cheeks and lips, so the face seems to be growing into a garden. Dark olive green fills the foliage and a deep brown ground surrounds the head. Signed lower right in Devanagari and dated 2026; the name has not yet been read with confidence.
